Active Lives Badminton Talent Camp

Last week saw us launch our Badminton Talent Camp over half term at Sir Graham Balfour in Stafford.

The 4 day programme was organised and ran by Tim Hull and focused on Footwork Foundations: Fundamental to Advanced techniques, Overhead Technique, Doubles tactics and fitness.

The 4 days, Tuesday to Friday lasted from 8.30-3.30pm each day were attended by county players and an Engalnd youth international.

The days involved several different aspects- high level games practice, doubles work, individual challenges, match practice, and video analysis. The video analysis element meant that players were able to go and practice a technique or work on tactics whilst being filmed. They then had opportunities to sit down with tim and analyse their own performance and also do some peer feedback.

Tim said of the 4 day camp, "Just wanted to say a huge thank you to every player that came along during the week.Work ethic, response to coaching, team spirit and support of each other during the training sessions were amazing. It was a pleasure to work with such a great group of young people with such an obvious love of badminton. I thoroughly look forward to the opportunity to work with you guys again soon".

"Ben enjoyed himself immensely. He will definitely come to future events", Edward Twigge, whose son Ben attended.

We will be running these events again over the summer, for more information please contact Tim.Hull@ActiveLivesEducation.co.uk
