What qualifications do the football coaches hold, and are the DBS checked?
All our football coaches are skilled practitioners. Our lead football coaches for our Soccer Stars Holiday Camps are FA Youth Award and UEFA B (Level 3) Qualified football coaches. Other support coaches hold FA Level 2 football coaching certificates. All our football coaches are DBS checked. They have been first aid trained and have also recieved safeguarding children training. All our coaches have a lot of experience working in a variety of different settings and have a great understanding of child development to support their tactical and technical understading of football. They also have a very good understanding of the ages and stages of development within football coaching and player development. Most importantly our football coaches are fun and will do they utmost to ensure that your child has a fantastic time on our football holiday camps.
What will my child need to bring to the Football Holiday Camps?
Children should bring clothing suitable for indoor and outdoor weather. They should also bring shin guards and sun cream for days with hotter weather. Children will also need to bring a packed lunch with plenty of snacks for throughout the day. We do ask that packed lunches are nut free even if your child doesn't have a nut allergy. They will also need to bring plenty of drinks to make sure that they are hydrated throughout the day.
How much do the Football Holiday Camps cost?
We try to keep the costs as low as possible with the aim of making them as accessible as possible. Parents can book individual days that run from 8:30am to 3:30pm for £13. We also run extended days which run till 5:30pm to help fit around working parents, which cost £17.
Here's an outline of what the typical day looks like
Registration and arrival activities-
On arrival parents will sign in their children and there will be 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 pitches set up to make sure the children have something to do the moment they register.
Once registration is complete and all children have arrived they will be given an overview of what the day will include. At this point the children will be given the opportunity to request any games that they want to play or mention any particular skills or techniques that they would like to work on.
After the overview the children will move onto activity 1 which will introduce the football skill for the day. The coaches will show that children the skill and give them an opportunity to have a go at it. The skill chosen will be something that can be broken down and simplified and also something that can be made more complex which means, no matter the ability of the child they coach will ensure that they have success.
After activity 1 the children will be given a 15 minute break. This will be for them to get a little bit of rest and reflect on the football skill of the day and games they have just played.
After the break activity 2 will start and this will involve a range of games that create plenty of opportunities to work in teams, problem solve and score plenty of goals. Children will have opportunities to work towards individual, group or team challenges.
At around 12pm the children will break for lunch. The children will be taken over to the dining hall in the main building and will have lunch with children from our other activities that are running on site that day. This is great if you have a child on each of our different camps as they will be able to come together at lunch time and catch up on the fun the have had.
After lunch the children will have an opportunity for some supervised free play. They will be allowed to play with all of the equipment and just play. If they are not sure what to do our coaches will help them and give them some ideas. During this time children generally play head tennis, american penalties, penalties, mini match's, football cricket and many more games...
After free-play children will focus on individual techniques and developing them in opposed and unopposed situations, this will include mastering 1v1 situations, finishing, passing, attacking and defending. These activities will give children a chance to improve their decision making and a chance to practice different techniques in a fun, challenging environment no matter their ability.
After activity 3 there will be another 15 minute break where children will get a chance to look over some of the filming we have been doing throughout the day and play back some of the goals they have scored and skills they have used.
After the break the children will move onto activity 4 which is the final activity. Activity 4 will be mini-matches, so 3v3's, 4v4's and 5v5s . This will give them the chance to apply everything they have learnt throughout the day, work as a team applying some tactics when defneding and attacking, and hopefully score lots of goals.

Parent Pick up-
This will bring us to the end of the day when we will do player of the day awards and then final signout with the parents.
