Here's an outline of what the typical day looks like

8:30am-9am

Registration and arrival activities-

On arrival parents will sign in their children. There will be courts set up to make sure all players have something to do the moment they register.
9am-10:15am

Activity 1-

Once registration is complete and all players have arrived they will be given an overview of what the day will include. At this point the players will be given the opportunity to request any games that they want to play or mention any particular skills or techniques that they would like to work on.

After the overview the players will move onto activity 1 which will introduce the badminton skill or discipline focus (singles, doubles, mixed) for the day. The skills chosen will be something that can be broken down and simplified and also something that can be made more complex which means, no matter the ability of the player the coach will ensure that they have success.
10:15am-10:30am

Break-

After activity 1 the players will be given a 15 minute break. This will be for them to get a little bit of rest and reflect on the skill or days focus. Also this is an opportunity for open discussion between the participants and coaches.
10:30am-10:45am

Activity 2-

After the break activity 2 will start and this will be a progression from Activity 1 and usually involve a range of min or conditions games that create plenty of opportunities to re-enforce any learning taken place throughout the morning.
11:45am-12:15am

Lunch-

At around 12pm the players will break for lunch. The players will be taken over to the dining hall in the main building and will have lunch with children from our other activities that are running on site that day. This is great if you have a child on each of our different camps as they will be able to come together at lunch time and catch up on the fun they’ve have had.
12:15pm-12:45pm

Video Analysis / Theory Session-

After lunch the players will have an opportunity to use our Video Analysis equipment.

This may be focusing on court positioning in doubles play or shot choices during a singles match. The session may have a technique focus and players will have the opportunity to watch themselves in slow motion to facilitate development and speed of learning.
12:45pm-2pm

Activity 3 – Video Analysis / Theory Session cont.

Some days this session will be used as an opportunity to get in the classroom and study some of the world’s top players or discuss certain tactical elements in better detail. Through match video or specially filmed coaching videos.

Sessions will be facilitated by our coaches who will provide insight, practical knowledge and be able to answer any questions
2pm-2:15pm

Break-

After activity 3 there will be another 15 minute break
2:15pm-3:25pm

Activity 4-

After the break the players will move onto activity 4 which is the final activity. Activity 4 will be game focused. This will give them the chance to apply everything they have learnt throughout the day, applying tactics when defending and attacking, and hopefully cement the days learning.
3:25pm-3:30pm

Parent Pick up-

This will bring us to the end of the day when we will do player of the day awards and then final sign out with the parents.
